Wild mushrooms—among the “Top Ten Healthy Foods”

Traditional Chinese medicine holds that consuming mushrooms in moderation is beneficial for strengthening the body and aiding recovery from illness. Ancient Chinese medical texts point out that mushrooms such as Reishi and Poria cocos can nourish the skin, enhance complexion, and promote a radiant appearance. Tremella, on the other hand, is known for its ability to fortify the body, nourish the brain, invigorate the spirit, and improve one’s beauty. Modern medical research also confirms that there is ample scientific evidence supporting the beautifying effects of mushrooms. Moreover, mushroom-based dishes have a long history in China; they can be prepared with meat or vegetables, are light yet flavorful, rich yet not greasy, and are widely regarded as “delicacies from the mountains.”
